How to Enable Two-Step Verification in WhatsApp for iPhone

WhatsApp has launched a new security tool called Two-Step Verification for its iOS and Android apps. This feature adds an extra layer of protection for its billions of users. When enabled, anyone who tries to verify your phone number must enter the passcode that you’ve created. Follow the guide below to enable Two-Step Verification on your iPhone and secure your chat app.

You can also lock your WhatsApp using FaceID and Touch ID scanners for added security.

Secure Your WhatsApp on iPhone: Enabling Two-Step Verification

  1. Lunch the latest Whatsapp on your iPhone.
  2. Tap on Setting, look like a gear icon appears at the bottom-right side on the screen.
  3. Go to Account, then tap on Two-Step Verification.
  4. Tap on Enable → Enter Six-digit Passcode → Confirm your 2-SV passcode.

Note– This code you’ll be asked for when you register your phone number with Whatsapp on other Smartphone and or when you install again after deletion Whatsapp.

Enter an optional e-mail, then confirm your email.

(An email will be helping you to recover or reset Whatsapp 2-step verification passcode, in case you forget and safeguard your account.)

If you don’t want to add, then skip it. You’ll be prompted Skip Email, Don’t worry. You can also add email address after enabling 2-step verification, too.

As per the Whatsapp, it highly recommended enter an accurate email address, so in case, if you forget six-digit passcode, then it will allow Whatsapp to send you a link via email to disable Whatsapp 2-step verification.
